The skills gap widens every day and impending Brexit isn’t helping this. Being adaptable and willing to learn are critical skills that should be on every job advert, yet this frequently is not listed on the laundry list of skills required. We are living in a world of constant change and predictability is certainly not a feature of many jobs and companies. The most successful way to survive change is to embrace it.

Automation and artificial intelligence poses a threat to workers performing routine jobs as well as employees in knowledge industries. The gig economy also means that there is shift away from permanent roles to more contractor roles, where there would have previously been permanent jobs.
