In order to engage with strategy early on and predict and have insight into organisational risk, it's crucial that companies understand their workforce. But not only this, they must have access to this information. HR or rather the People function need to be able to access this data fast, so that its current and accurate. Employee engagement is directly linked to productivity, and if an organisation has accessible and accurate data on its workforce, it is able to understand and predict organisational capability and risk, and act on this when necessary.
This is the modern challenge to HR. We need to engage with strategy earlier and use our expertise to deduce the nature and relative scale of the risks to delivery as related to people and organisational capability.
